This Privacy Policy applies to KuriBook: Chit Fund Tracker, published by Mimango.
KuriBook is a personal record-keeping app that helps users manage chitty-related information such as members, installments, payments, payouts, receipts, notes, and backups.
By using KuriBook, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Information handled by the app
KuriBook may store information that you enter into the app, including:
- Your name, mobile number, email address, and app PIN, if you choose to set them up
- Chitty names, installment details, member details, contribution amounts, payment records, payout records, due records, notes, and receipt details
- Contact names and phone numbers that you manually enter or select for chitty record management
- Backup files created by you
- App settings such as PIN lock, biometric lock preference, theme, and backup preferences
KuriBook does not require you to enter sensitive personal information unless it is needed for your own record-keeping.
Local data storage
KuriBook stores your app data locally on your device.
The app does not upload your chitty records, member details, payment details, payout details, notes, or backup data to our servers. KuriBook currently does not provide cloud sync or server-based account storage.
If you uninstall the app, clear app data, reset your device, or delete backup files, your data may be permanently lost unless you have created and safely stored a backup.
PIN and biometric security
If you enable PIN lock, the PIN is used to protect access to the app.
If you enable biometric unlock, authentication is handled by the Android operating system. KuriBook does not collect, receive, store, or transmit your fingerprint, face, or other biometric data.
Backup and restore
KuriBook may allow you to create backup files for restoring your records later.
If backup encryption is enabled, the backup file is protected using the password you provide. KuriBook cannot recover encrypted backups if you forget the backup password.
Backup files are controlled by you. If you save, upload, or share backup files using another app, cloud storage service, file manager, email app, WhatsApp, or any other third-party service, that action is controlled by you and may be subject to the privacy policy of that third-party service.
Receipt and record sharing
KuriBook may allow you to generate and share receipts, payment records, payout records, or summaries.
Sharing happens only when you choose to share something. If you share a receipt or record through WhatsApp, email, messaging apps, cloud storage, or any other app, the selected third-party app will handle the shared content according to its own privacy policy.
App permissions
Depending on the features you use, KuriBook may request access to certain device features.
File or storage access may be used to create, save, select, import, export, or restore backup files and receipts.
Contact access may be used only if the app provides a feature to select contacts from your device for easier member entry. Contact information is used for your chitty records and is not uploaded to our servers.
Biometric access may be used only for local app unlock through Android system authentication.
KuriBook uses permissions only for app functionality. The app does not use permissions to sell user data or track users for advertising.
How information is used
Information stored in KuriBook is used to provide the app's core features, including:
- Creating and managing chitties
- Adding and managing members
- Recording payments and payouts
- Tracking pending and completed records
- Creating receipts or summaries
- Restoring data from backups
- Protecting app access using PIN or biometric unlock
- Improving the user's own record-keeping experience
Data sharing
KuriBook does not sell your personal data.
KuriBook does not automatically share your chitty records, member details, payment details, payout details, notes, or backups with third parties.
Data may be shared only in the following situations:
- When you manually choose to share a receipt, report, backup file, or other record using another app
- When required by law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable government request
- When needed to protect the rights, safety, or security of users, the app, or the developer
Third-party services
KuriBook may rely on Google Play and Android system services for app distribution, installation, updates, security, and device-level functionality.
If you use third-party apps or services to share, store, or transfer KuriBook data, those third-party services are responsible for how they handle the data you provide to them.
KuriBook does not control the privacy practices of third-party apps such as WhatsApp, email apps, file managers, cloud storage apps, or messaging apps.
Data security
KuriBook is designed to keep user records on the device.
The app uses Android's app sandbox and local device storage mechanisms to help protect app data. If backup encryption is enabled, backup files are protected using the password provided by the user.
No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Users should keep their device, screen lock, app PIN, backup password, and backup files safe.
Do not share backup files, receipts, or records with people you do not trust.
Data retention and deletion
KuriBook stores data on your device until you delete it.
You can delete app records inside the app where delete options are available. You can also remove all local app data by uninstalling the app or clearing app data from Android settings.
Backup files created by you remain wherever you saved them until you manually delete them.
Because KuriBook currently does not store your app records on our servers, we cannot delete local device data or backup files on your behalf.
Children's privacy
KuriBook is not intended for children under the age of 13.
The app is designed for adults who manage personal, family, group, or business-related chitty records. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Financial disclaimer
KuriBook is a record-keeping tool only.
The app does not provide financial, legal, tax, investment, or accounting advice. Users are responsible for verifying their own records and complying with applicable laws and regulations.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
When we update the policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of KuriBook after changes means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
